I’m Katie Best, the lady behind Katie Ray Design.

I am a passionate experienced graphic designer and hand-lettering artist who aims to spread kindness and bravery to people I encounter and especially those who may need some extra encouragement. I adore working with clients using my skills, creativity, passion and enthusiasm to create designs that bring their passions to life. I believe it is important to embrace who we are, which is what brought Club Awkward to life!

I can help you with logo/branding work for your small business or events with coordinating materials such as invites, digital ads, brochures, and T-shirt artwork. My work has been used for special events including concerts, weddings, birthday parties, fund-raising campaigns and more.

In addition to the work mentioned above, I continue to work in higher education during the day where I have a nearly 24-year combined work experience as a graphic designer and communications coordinator for a highly selective public university.

I was able to return to my creative outlet outside of my day job several years ago following my divorce. I found myself enjoying the same activities that I did as a young girl including roller skating, reading, hand lettering, riding my bike, and enjoying time at the local state park beach. Rekindling my favorite childhood activities helps create the Katie Ray Design experience for my clients - a place where passion + playful creativity + encouragement come to life.

Some of the brightest spots in my life are my two kids, cat, and friends and family who have helped me get to this point on my journey.
